Abstract

A large number of countries try to create mutual agreements between countries either multilateral or regional to improve and expand their trade volumes and to increase their economic growth. One of the countries that has been very active in reaching those goals is China. The main goals of this research paper are to analyze the reasons to join CPTPP, and to get a better understanding of China’s behavior in trade strategies and how they exert their influence through free trade agreements. Furthermore, the results of the study analyze how China is using the free trade agreements to challenge the order in the International system, and to see the stance of the United States of America. In addition, this research paper and its findings helps other researchers and policy makers in understanding China’s decision making regarding the field of economics and geopolitics.
