Background

Foreign Policy Initiative, in cooperation with European Movement from SerbiaInstitute for European Policies EUROPEUMCentre for EU Enlargement Studies of the Central European UniversitySlovak Foreign Policy AssociationCentre for Eastern Studies OSWAlbanian Institute for International Studies and European Movement from Montenegro, is implementing a project with the aim to support the advocacy strategy for the European integration of the Western Balkans.

Project aim

The aim of the projects is developing an advocacy strategy for Western Balkans countries which would make the EU enlargement process in the region easier, faster and more efficient. Efficient and effective advocacy strategy which takes into consideration enlargement experience of EU member states could significantly improve EU integration process and support these activities is one of the expected results of this initiative. Partner organizations from the Western Balkans and Visegrad group will have different activities: making of research methodology for the strategy, analyzing relevant sources of information, interviewing different stakeholders and taking positive practices from countries from V4 countries into consideration.

The result of activities is a joint advocacy strategy for the European integration of the Western Balkans. The strategy will have national chapters and practical guidelines which will be offered to project beneficiaries. They will be involved in the drafting process through wide communication and thematic workshops testing the feasibility of the model and practical solutions proposed by the project team.

The final document (advocacy strategy) will be promoted in the countries of origin of the project partners, but also in Western Balkans countries and in Brussels with participation of the project team. The project is supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
