“V4 Lessons learned: Sharing EU accession experiences on anti-discrimination”
Concluding event within the project entitled „Online Platform on the EU accession experience of the V4 Countries” which has been realized with the support of the International Visegrad fund and held on 18 November 2013 in Budapest, Hungary.
VPI BH director Zoran-Matija Kulundžić took part in the concluding event within the project entitled „Online Platform on the EU accession experience of the V4 Countries” which has been realized with the support of the International Visegrad fund and held on 18 November 2013 in Budapest, Hungary.
The Conference was hosted by the CEU Centre for EU Enlargement Studies in Budapest and brought together representatives from the Visegrad group, the Institute of Public Affairs (IPA) from Poland, the Slovak Foreign Policy Association (SFPA), the Czech Republic Association for International Affairs (AMO), as well as representatives of NGOs from each of the Western Balkan Countries (Albania, BiH, Croatia, Montenegro, Kosovo and Serbia).
The event focused on the lessons V4 countries have learnt through their EU accession and Europeanization process about the adoption of anti-discrimination legislation. The two-panel workshop, which discussed the findings of research conducted so far in the project, provided an overview about the development of the overall legislative framework in Slovakia and Hungary, and discussed in further detail protected rights, with special attention women’s rights in the Czech Republic and the rights of people with disabilities in Poland. Apart from discussing the findings among the four Visegrad partners, special attention was dedicated to the project’s partners from the Western Balkans on the topic and sharing the Visegrad experience, positive and negative lessons in order to promote their Europeanization process.
By participating in this project FPI BH seeks to strengthen its position as a partner in regional cooperation projects as well as to affirm its presence in the South Eastern and Central European NGO sector.
