The Launch of the Group of Friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina
In the building of the European Parliament in Brussels, on November 8th 2011, the Group of friends of Bosnia and Herzegovina in European Parliament was officially launched. This is an informal parliamentary group which gathers members of the European Parliament from all political clubs and its goal is to strengthen parliamentary dialogue with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Štefan Fule, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, was present at the launch along with the BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Sven Alkalaj and 12 members of the BiH state and entity parliaments.
This visit to Brussels for the BiH members of parliaments was made possible by the NGO Foreign Policy Initiative BH (FPI BH) with the financial support of the Embassy of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in BiH. During the past 8 months, the FPI BH has been actively working with the state and entity members of parliaments on elaborating the key changes that have been introduced in the way the EU functions after the signing of the Lisbon treaty.
